Executive Members

Each and every parent is a member of the School PAC. There is also an elected board of volunteers that make up the PAC executive team. The efforts of the PAC are focused on fundraising, social events, parent education, safe routes to school, communicating with parents, volunteer opportunities and more. Here are the current members of the executive team
Hi, I’m Kendra. I am serving as the PAC Chair this year.

I joined the PAC to contribute to making the school year fun and memorable for students and families.

My role as Chair is to lead our amazing PAC exec team, to ensure our activities align with school and PAC objectives, and to be a liaison between parents, staff and school administration. I love hiking and biking the north shore mountains and doing popcorn movie nights with my family. See you around the school!

Vanessa Mitchell

Co-chair
Hello Canyon Heights Elementary!
My name is Vanessa and I’m delighted to be yourCo-Chair and Social Media Coordinator for the PAC Exec Volunteer Team! I was brought on in April 2022 and quickly realized how tight and welcoming our PAC team is.
We can’t wait to show you what we have planned for 2022/2023 and beyond as we have already started planning for our future here at Canyon Heights.
Having one child in grade 1 and another headed to Kindie in 2023, I’m so excited to see this school grow.
See you all at school!

Erin Alexander

Treasurer
Hi my name is Erin and this is my first year as the PAC treasurer. I joined the PAC when I heard how much it supports the school and wanted to see how I could help. My role is to oversee all aspects of the PAC’s finances and help the executive committee on decision making …most importantly how to best spend the hard earned fundraising profits! I love living on the North Shore, kids’ jokes and perfectly reconciled spreadsheets!

Sonia Gadtke

Secretary + Class reps Coordinator
Hi, I'm Sonia. I have 2 roles on the PAC including the Secretary and Class Rep coordinator. My job is to record the minutes of each PAC meeting and also to organize and help guide the class reps for each division. Canyon Heights has always been near and dear to me since I walked the halls as a student, now my kids attend our school! I have a daughter in Kindergarten and a son in Grade 2.

Fun Fact: I embarrassingly balled my eyes out at my grade 7 graduation ceremony because I was so sad to be leaving Canyon Heights for high school. I'm pretty sure I made my Kindergarten buddy very uncomfortable!

Christy Campbell Standing

Hot Lunch Program Coordinator
The hot Lunch Coordinator Coordinates the Hot Lunch Program- The hot lunch Program is currently paused due to COVID-19 protocols.

Mona Tavassoli

Fundraising Coordinator
Hello… I’m Mona and I am coordinating fundraising programs that help provide funds to the school in order to support student and teacher goals in the areas of enriching the lives or our students.

My two boys go to Canyon Heights and they both LOVE it there. I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing community in North Vancouver. I love working with women entrepreneurs, specially mom entrepreneurs in my business and entrepreneurship is a fascinating world to me, it turns the invisible visible.

I am delighted to be on the PAC team and if you have any ideas or you want to help out, feel free to contact me.

Jocelyn Chang

After-school programs Coordinator
Jocelyn Chang has been in charge of the afterschool programs for the past few terms

Julie Hebb

Social & Events Coordinator
Hi I’m Julie, I serve as the schools Volunteer and Events Coordinator.

I am also an art teacher and run after school art programs, work shops and the occasional in class art instruction for some of the teachers. I have three girls in the school and they’re already embarrassed to see me at school as much as they do. So naturally I joined the PAC September 2022 to embarrass them even more.

Hoping to help bring some fun and build a close school community through great events put on by our talented team and many wonderful parent volunteers.

Looking forward to the year and what our team and parents can do to continue to benefit our school and our kids.

Saman Hamidi

Communications Lead
As Communications Coordinator, I try to ensure that our PAC can easily communicate with all the parents through the website, emails and social media.

VACANT
